Most people hunt mushrooms to eat. I hunt mushrooms to look at, to photograph, to wonder about and paint. Why, I just like them. I like to eat them and I like to take pictures of them, I even like to paint them. Sounds like a Dr. Seuss sentence.
Like this little story of shrooms:
“The Magical Ring” by the Paper Artiste’
“Hey YOU, Let’s go on a mushroom hunt.” We can find mushrooms in warm damp places, that have leaves, tree stumps, in woody areas with the right kind of plant food to grow in.
This journey led us to the large circle of mushrooms in the open woods. Almost hidden in the leaves was a special circle called a Fairy ring. It was so beautiful.
It was a sunny summer afternoon when we found the mushroom ring. The sun was shining down on them and they sparkled like magick dust.
There closest to the great Oak tree was the little fairy looking at us with a smile…
Working on a book. Someday. So for now I make teeny tiny books.

This muse of mine has been going on for about six years now. I have made two teeny tiny Field Journals which you see in the picture. I make them out of scrap material and photographs that I had taken with my camera. One was on a journey with my daughter in Michigan. The other one was with my husband when we discovered the Stark County Parks.
